Social commitment - Education as a springboard into life
With great commitment and our development expertise, Seraina Invest supports Indian schoolchildren in gaining better opportunities for the future. In rural regions such as the province of Moradabad, where education is often in short supply, we create prospects that would otherwise be unattainable.
Saving Jacob High School
Jacob High School faced closure several times - most recently due to the effects of coronavirus and monsoon damage. Without our support, children in the region would have had to travel over 100 kilometers to the nearest school every day. Thanks to our support:
- Roofs repaired and the building structure renewed
- A library and physics and chemistry laboratories were set up
- Created a safe and sustainable learning environment for around 500 pupils
Our mission goes beyond simply imparting knowledge. We want to teach students practical skills that will enable them to start a career. Electrician, carpenter, painter or bricklayer - by cooperating with local companies, we offer students effective opportunities to become financially independent.
Education as a privilege
In India, education remains a privilege for many children. Poorer children in particular see school as a place where they can develop. With 70% of students being girls, Jacob High School also sets an important example for equality.
